Personal Statement

"While I believe that standardized tests largely assess not knowledge but rather a student’s ability to take a test, they are nevertheless an important component in academic success.  As a potential PhD candidate, I have a passion for learning and literature specifically, and my tutoring curriculum incorporates both conceptual knowledge as well as the tips and tricks to succeed on many different tests.  As a recent AP and National Merit Scholar, the difficulties and winning strategies on the AP and SAT tests are fresh in my mind.

Above all, I encourage my students to think critically, as this makes them better test takers, better writers, and all-around better students."
