Learn Computer Programming During the Hour of Code Week!
Do you know how long it takes to create a computer game like Flappy Bird? Would you believe us if we told you it only takes an hour?
Sure, computer programming has levels of mastery, but you don’t need to be a pro to get started. Anyone can learn how to code, and that’s why you should sign up for the Hour of Code Week starting next Monday, December 8th.
Hour of Code Week happens once a year and acts as an introduction to computer programming for all ages. You don’t even need to be a student to participate!
Last year, in one just one week, Hour of Code helped 15 million students worldwide learn how to code. Nearly 200 Pennsylvania schools participated in Hour of Code by creating their own computer programming events. If you can’t find a session to join at your school or local library, you can participate online by taking one of Hour of Code’s free tutorials.
If you are still skeptical, we’ve already done the homework for you. We took a tutorial from last year’s program to test our abilities. With a simple puzzle game, we were able to learn block-based coding. The tutorial featured Angry Birds that needed to navigate through different mazes.
Each puzzle challenged us to use different code combinations to move the Angry Bird. The directions were easy to follow along with and going through the 20 puzzles only took us 30 minutes.
We told you this would be easy! Now, we challenge you to participate in an Hour of Code next week, and let us know which puzzles you complete!
